$500,000 for a 15-Second Appearance: Henry Cavill’s Final Payment From Warner Bros as Superman Comes With a Sour Bite to It
From passing the sword to Liam Hemsworth to putting the Superman cape off, Henry Cavill said goodbye to two major and fan-favorite characters. Right after the British actor’s official post, James Gunn also passed a statement about writing a script for the new Superman film. However, Cavill got a huge amount of salary from his recent engagements with Warner Bros. But there’s a catch.

Not only Superman, but the new bosses of DCEU canceled many of the fan-favorite characters. James Gunn will not continue the story of Wonder Woman as well. After his exit from The Witcher, fans were quite hopeful about seeing Cavill in his Superman avatar. He made a comeback alongside Dwayne Johnson in Black Adam. Despite making a lot of money from a cameo, this settlement leaves a sour aftertaste.

Henry Cavill got paid a lot but had to pay back as well
Amidst the changes going on in the DC Studios, The Flash movie is ready to hit the theaters in June 2023. The Tudors actor not only shot a cameo for Black Adam but also shot a cameo in The Flash film. But because he will not return as Superman anymore, the reports say they will cut his shot off from the film. Cavill shot for The Flash in September, but now the final cut will not see him in the film.

Apparently, Cavill was in higher demand as former Warner Bros chiefs wanted to make the sequel to Man of Steel. But as soon as James Gunn and Peter Safran came, they changed everything. While they brought back Superman for a cameo in Black Adam, they soon bid farewell to the actor. Well, they paid the Enola Holmes star $250,000 each for his appearances (Superman in Black Adam and in The Flash film).
However, not only Henry Cavill but also other actors who were associated with the DC characters had to say goodbye to their characters. Gal Gadot was also to appear as Wonder Woman in the film. But reportedly, her shot will also not make it to the final cut.

Well, James Gunn also said he and Cavill had talked about working together in the future on a non-Superman project. Until we see that happening, we will surely see him in his upcoming project with Amazon. The actor will finally live his nerdy fantasy with the Warhammer 40,000 series.
