‘Lupin’ Part 3 Returns After 2 Years of Part 2 as Netflix Confirms Release Date

Netflix’s hit international series, Lupin, is confirmed to return after its first two parts debuted back in 2021. The French crime drama, which received widespread acclaim and critical success, was a global phenomenon. Rising up the charts to becoming one of the top ten most-watched series in 100 countries, the show is back to follow up on its cliffhanger ending of the last part.

Omar Sy once again dons the role of the charismatic Assane Diop. After a farewell to his family the last we saw him, Part Three shall follow him on a new adventure.

Lupin Part Three to mark Assane’s comeback from hiding

Back in 2021, the last episode of Lupin Part Two showcased Assane Diop, still wanted by the cops, escaping out by the River Seine. Now Netflix has confirmed in a tweet that part three will drop on October 5, 2023. Additionally, as per the official synopsis, the season will follow Diop returning to Paris looking to restart his life afresh. However, there will be confrontations with someone “from his past”. 

The crime drama had received instant recognition for its clever writing and intriguing plot. The upcoming part shall be looking to pick up on the same quality. And even an expansion if Sy is at the helm of affairs. The series which follows up on the novels of Maurice Leblanc will look to advance the story further after Diop extracted his revenge for his father’s death back in part two. Therefore, the next iteration will look to explore Diop’s adventures as he tries to find a life for himself while escaping the authorities.

However, Netflix extended its power of audio dubbing and extensively comprehensive subtitles that brought the show to global audiences.

The fifth and last season of the show landed on Netflix in two parts back in September and December 2021. After building up on the character arcs, the show left fans satisfied with a properly ended story. Additionally, shows such as Money Heist and Lupin demo the vast power of the streaming giant to rake in profits from all quarters. It also showcased Netflix’s strength to break down barriers of language and translation to be able to achieve a global audience.
