Why Did the ‘Loving’ Father of Three Ryan Reynolds Did Not Allow His Children to Visit the Sets of ‘Deadpool 2’
Ryan Reynolds is a family man, first and foremost. Despite being one of Hollywood’s busiest stars, the Canadian actor never fails to prioritize his family over work. Be it in award shows or during Wrexham’s matches, Reynolds’ family never fails to show up to support him. However, not while working on Deadpool.
Deadpool is undoubtedly Reynolds’ biggest outing as an actor. We are no strangers to the legacy of the star as the Merc with a mouth. Apart from being one of his most successful films, Deadpool played a huge role in establishing the actor in the industry. While the film catapulted him to global superstardom, the actor refused to have his kids see him in the role.

One can’t deny the fact that Deadpool is an incredibly entertaining character. However, at the same time, it was one of the first superhero films to have a hard R-rating. The film also earned its distinction, as it was a vulgar, violent carnival of thrills and adventure. Moreover, Reynolds had to go through some bizarre transformations to dress up as the foul-mouthed anti-hero. So it makes sense why he didn’t want his kids to see him as Deadpool.
During his interview with ABC News, the actor admitted that he did not want his family to see him play the character. Reynolds revealed how the character gave him freedom and allowed him to act in a way he never would in front of his family.
In addition, the Free Guy star confessed that he was not comfortable with his kids seeing him with prosthetic facial scars. Being the family man he is, Reynolds revealed how he liked to leave for work and return home looking like his regular self.
Meanwhile, it seems like Reynolds’ kids are not getting to watch a Deadpool film anytime soon.
