Emma Corrin has been making waves in the entertainment industry ever since they captivated audiences with their portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown. However, now Corrin is ready to embrace an exciting challenge: stepping into the shoes of a villain in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3. The talented actor expressed their enthusiasm for joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially, going head to head with Reynolds’ witty and sarcastic antihero.

Marvel announced Corrin as part of the cast in February 2023. However, they kept specific details about their character secret. Additionally, they expressed their excitement about working alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The famed duo who will be reprising their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively.

Emmy-nominated Corrin has been exploring different genres and roles in their career. They have also starred in the romantic drama My Policeman with Harry Styles and the upcoming gothic horror film, Nosferatu with Lily Rose-Depp. Corrin said, during an interview with Empire Magazine, that playing a villain in Deadpool 3 was something they had always wanted to try, and described it as “an itch I want to scratch.”

Corrin also revealed that they had to quickly familiarize themselves with the intricate world of the MCU before filming began, as they weren’t initially a Marvel fan. The complexity and creativity within the MCU genuinely amazed them: they enjoyed how each story is interconnected.

When it came to the Deadpool franchise specifically, they admired its self-awareness and humor. Furthermore, Corrin commended director Shawn Levy for his vision and guidance, particularly since he had previously collaborated with Reynolds, on Free Guy and The Adam Project.

Notably, Emma Corrin is not the only actor to join the star-studded cast. Deadpool 3 is gearing up to be one of the most exciting upcoming movies thanks to its star power.

A star-studded cast joins Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool 3

In addition to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Deadpool 3 will bring back some faces from the X-Men series. Vanessa, portrayed by Morena Baccarin, will return as Deadpool’s love interest. Stefan Kapicic will reprise his role as Colossus, the mutant with a metal skin. Brianna Hildebrand will return as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Additionally, Shioli Kutsuna will also make an appearance as Yukio. Most importantly, Karan Soni will again play Dopinder, Deadpool’s loyal taxi driver and aspiring sidekick.

With a great cast comes the need for a great script. Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios are perhaps taking all their time to craft a perfect movie. Recently, Marvel Studios decided to work on its VFX quality, which pushed the threequel back further. Moreover, the SAG-AFTRA strikes have now halted the movie’s production. As such, it remains to be seen how Marvel and Reynolds pull off this epic movie.
