It has been nearly a year since Henry Cavill bid farewell to Superman. Arguably, his biggest outing as an actor, Superman, was a career-defining role for the British actor. Owing to the incredible job Cavill did as the Man Of Steel, his departure was a massive heartbreak for fans. Since then, they have left no stone unturned to bring him back to DC. Now that David Corenswet is DC’s new Superman, fans have accepted Cavill’s fate.

So, to fill the void the Enola Holmes star left behind, the fandom has been dreaming of casting the actor in other superhero roles. And recently they backed Cavill to play an MCU villain. 

How Henry Cavill would look like as a major MCU villain

Henry Cavill in MCU has always been a topic of contention among the fans. Since time immemorial, fans have wanted Cavill to join the Marvel roster. Moreover, his departure from DC added fuel to the fire. Even though the actor is yet to announce any involvement in the MCU, fans have already started imagining him in multiple roles. Recently, fan art surfaced on Reddit showcasing Henry Cavill as the Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom.

A Reddit user recently gave the fans a glimpse of what the actor would look like if he played Doctor Doom. Sheltz32tt used digital art to imagine Cavill as the villain, and the results were breathtaking. The digital art portrayed the Enola Holmes star with an intimidating look dressed up in Doctor Doom’s costume. Shortly after, the fans lauded the artist and seemed to agree with his choice. Interestingly, this is not the first time an artist imagined Cavill playing a villain in the MCU. Not long ago, fan art portrayed the British actor as the iconic X-Men character Cyclops.

While the actor looks like an appropriate fit for these roles, there is a good reason why Cavill could make a wonderful Doctor Doom.

Why the British actor would be a wonderful Doctor Doom

Henry Cavill as Superman, was an experience that comes along once in a century. The actor’s portrayal of the Man of Steel was flawless. And now that he has left behind DC, playing a complex character like Doctor Doom would be the best way to enter the MCU. Moreover, Fantastic Four is a renowned film series, and Cavill has enough experience in big roles. 

For what it’s worth, the actor proved he could play a ruthless villain in Mission Impossible: Fallout in 2018. Cavill’s performance as August Walker garnered immense praise from the audience. However, it all depends on the British star on whether he ever decides to take up a new challenge in MCU.
