Earlier this year, fans of Eddie Murphy were blessed with good news. Not only was the comedian making his way back to the acting world, but he would also be reprising one of his greatest roles: Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop. Although the world was excited to see him as Axel Foley, the film was put on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. However, with the strike over, the world recently got to see the first look of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.
In the pictures shared on social media, the 62-year-old can be seen in a yellow t-shirt with his character’s signature baseball jacket over it. The snaps depicted a scene where the actor could be seen interacting with police officers while his hands were up. While there are no other hints as to what is happening in the scene, one thing is for sure, the film will be an absolute joy to watch.
Although the franchise has been in the hands of Paramount Studios all these years, this time Netflix seems to have taken the film plans ahead.

Earlier this year, Netflix opened up about their plans to put out a Beverly Hills Cop 4. The streamer revealed that it would sport the original cast reprising their roles. From Eddie Murphy to Kevin Bacon and more, the actors who had been a part of the franchise came pouring in. Apart from the cast, not much is known about the plot of the film as of now.
All we know is that the film is set to be released to the streamer’s never-ending library sometime in 2024. However, with it being nearly 30 years since the last film, the break would give fans the perfect opportunity to kick back and catch up on some classic Murphy humor. In fact, all the films from the franchise are already a part of Netflix’s library, so this would be the easiest thing to do.
