The prequel series of Game of Thrones will soon premiere on HBO. However, it seems like those supply chain issues during the pandemic have hit Westeros pretty hard! Thankfully, The Witcher and WarCraft universe were there to lend some iron. A little confused here? Well, keep on reading and you will come to an interesting conclusion. Thank us later.

The series, The House of The Dragon chronicles House Targaryen at the pinnacle of its fiery might. It is set in Westeros approximately 200 years before Daenerys laid claim to King’s Landing. The series will signify what happened during the Targaryen civil war, often known as the Dance of the Dragons, which was brought on by King Viserys defying convention and proclaiming his daughter heir to the Iron Throne.

Furthermore, the prequel will strive to make up for some of the original series’ mistakes. For instance, the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, which caused controversy among viewers. Did you know there were like 2500 swords used to build the Iron Throne? Here’s the more interesting fact:

House of the Dragons had to borrow a few sabers from Netflix’s The Witcher and other fantasy shows

Yes, you read it right! Westeros probably fell short of the iron and hence they had to borrow the swords from other shows such as Duncan Jones’s WarCraft movie and Netflix’s The Witcher. It’s intriguing that House of the Dragon has a striking relationship with these shows because games like Warcraft and The Witcher have made efforts to recreate (and profit from) the popularity of Game of Thrones. Do you think that’s the reason Geralt seems to lose against Vilgefortz in the upcoming season of The Witcher?

The House of the Dragon series will draw inspiration from Fire & Blood and novellas like The Princess and the Queen, which cover the Targaryen dynasty’s history, in contrast to the flagship series, which was based on George R. R. Martin’s (unfinished) series of fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire.

After the very acrimonious eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon will try to stay true to Martin. This starts with the Iron Throne, which is finally given the stature described in A Song of Ice and Fire. The Iron Throne is the seat crafted of thousands of blades seized from Aegon the Conqueror’s defeated foes.
