‘Cobra Kai’ Ralph Maachio Gives Credits to Writers and Creators of Show for Keeping Miyagi Woven
Cobra Kai star Ralph Macchio has been a household name since the 80s. The actor who found his fame through Karate Kid also rocked as an adult in the same character decades later. The 2018 series is a continuation of the 1984 storyline, casting both Ralph and William Zabka as the same characters. The series has had four successful seasons so far and is ready for a fifth one.
After an action-filled two-part finale of season four is over, with Hawk and Tory winning the All-valley tournament. The season ended with us wondering if Tory’s win was legitimate or if it was a result of partiality as a result of her paying off the official. The answers should be clear soon as Netflix’s Cobra Kai is set to release on 7th September 2022. In the meantime, Ralph Macchio is grateful for the show’s writers.

Cobra Kai and the importance of Miyagi
Ralph recently gave an interview along with William Zabka, Thomas Ian, and Yuji Okumoto. In the interview with YouTuber Paul’s Trip to the movies, Macchino was asked about how Pat Morita impacted him and the life lessons learned that the actor still uses today. “I credit the writing staff and creators of Cobra Kai for keeping the Miyagi woven into the show through every season,” said Macchio.
He explained that Pat’s character is important to him and Cobra Kai writers. He also adds that “Karate Kids’ secret sauce was Mr. Miyagi” and the master-student mentoring still remains the root and heart of the modern drama. According to the actor, through Robert Kamen and Pat, he carried the element of groundedness throughout his journey.

Pat Morita, who played Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid, passed away in 2005, but not before etching his mark on Karate lovers. Ralph who plays Daniel LaRusso in the Netflix Karate series Cobra Kai, first played a shy teenager in Karate Kid.
Tired of being bullied by a karate student named Johnny Lawrence, Daniel seeks help from his apartment’s handyman Mr. Miyagi. Karate Kid was released in 1984. The duo thereafter appeared in two sequels Karate Kid part II (1986) and Karate kid part III (1994). The movie has remained a classic and the Cobra Kai series seems to have done full justice to the film.
