“$25,000 worth of chips in his fridge”: Adam Sandler Recollects Norm Macdonald’s Hilariously Failed Attempt at Saving Taxes

However, there is a new, rather unconventional special by Norm Macdonald that has just started streaming on Netflix and making people emotional.
The special was recorded by the late Saturday Night Live alumni on the day before he had a critical medical procedure. At the end of the special, all of the friends of the comedian talk about his life and their experiences with him. Among the speakers are David Letterman, Dave Chappelle, Adam Sandler, Conan O’Brien, Molly Shannon, and David Spade. While all the comedians are sharing stories about their departed friends, Adam shares a hilarious story of Norm’s gambling addiction.

In his last special ever, Norm Macdonald decided to record all the material he had been working on as he was unable to perform in the middle of covid. All that recorded material took the shape of Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special.
And at the end of the special, all the colleagues and close friends of the dearly departed comedian come together to talk about the death of their friends as his life.
While talking about his life, Conan points out that Norm’s gambling addiction was a huge part of it. On the topic of gambling, Adam shared a hilarious story of Norm recalling how he chose to keep the chips he won in the fridge.

Adam shares that when one day both of them were chilling at Norm’s apartment and Adam went to the fridge to get a soda, he found a stack of gambling chips in the fridge. Adam says, “I open up his fridge and, I swear to God $25,000 worth of chips in his fridge”

The reason given by Norm was that he wanted to figure a way out to not pay taxes on the money he had won in Atlantic City. Apart from numerous appearances on SNL, Adam and Norm also did a movie together, Happy Gilmore.
