“We’ve kind of meshed in”: Sadie Sink Shares Her Similarities and Growth With Her Stranger Things Character Max Mayfield

Sadie Sink became a household name after she first appeared as Max in Stranger Things 2. Like the rest of the gang, she has also grown up in front of the audience’s eyes. But for a 20-year-old her resilience to acting and not letting fame go to her head is inspiring. 

In a recent interview with Elle, the young star talks about the similarities she shares with her character Max and what it’s like to be a star at such a young age.

When I first started playing her, I felt like our outward personalities were very different,” she admits. But the actress overcame her timidness and grew more confident as her onscreen character developed. 

I feel like we’ve kind of meshed in, in certain areas. And I think she’s rubbed off on me a little bit, or maybe I’ve been putting more of myself into the role.”

Max had a positive impact on her and she’s grateful for that. 

“I love playing Max, it feels like home in a way because we go off and we do other things, film other projects, but then always go back to this character,” she said.

Fame didn’t affect the Stranger Things actor

Sadie Sink is the same girl who likes Disney movies and Harry Potter. She is the same girl who goes to bed exactly at 9:30 PM and wakes up at 6 AM. 

“It feels like my world has changed, but Sadie hasn’t. I’m still the same Sadie I would be with or without the success of the show or just everything in my career,” she shared.

She credits her supportive friends who have stayed with her since middle school and high school and her family. But the actress also understands that it’s a slippery slope. So she limits her time on social media. Moreover, she’s also a part of Julia Garner’s Fanclub!
