Tom Hardy Breaks His Silence on ‘Taboo’ Season 2, Says “Still playing with ideas”
Gosh! It seems like ages ago when Taboo was first released in 2017 and became an instant hit for Writer Steven Knight and Actor Tom Hardy. However, after the show’s renewal in 2019 for a second season, to say the least, any news pertaining to the show and its season was dormant. However, after almost five years, we finally have updates for Taboo Season 2. And things are looking pretty amazing.
Recently Tom Hardy himself was seen talking about the show and his vision for the second season.

Last year while talking about the Taboo and its season- yet to even start shooting season- Tom Hardy started prophesizing how the season could pan out.
Tom said the new season means a lot to him and is “really important to me.” While talking about the show, he said they are thinking of not making the second season a boring old continuation of the first. Instead, they are speculating to go orthodox or maybe time travel.
He said, “We’re still playing with ideas: you could go linear, a continuation of time, or we could drop prior to London, or we could quantum-leap through time!”
We sure hope that Tom convinces the team to go ahead with his idea as it’s too damn cool!
While explaining the time-traveling part, Tom explained that they could leave London altogether and go to America and Canada in 1968. He said that they can dive deep into the “CIA, the Viet Cong, the French in Saigon.”Or, to tantalize audiences, even more, Tom opened up the possibility of traveling back in time by paying a visit to The Napoleonic Wars and The American War of Independence.
Nothing is as sure of now, but if things turn out like Tom is putting them. Then take our money and just start shooting it.

Knight stated to Collider that “six of the eight [episodes] are written” for season two, speaking around the premiere of his Oscar-nominated film, Spencer.

So if we go by that, the season should start shooting next year, as both Tom and Knight must currently be busy with the Peaky Blinders film. So we can assume the film to drop as early as 2023-24.
