The hit Netflix Original show made its debut on the site in 2016. Fans instantly fell in love with the mysterious girl Eleven and her whole gang. The show’s highlight was its setting in the 1980s, making people nostalgic. This nostalgia mixed with horror and extraterrestrial elements was the perfect recipe for a hit show.
However, like all good things, the show must come to an end. Show creators Ross and Matt Duffer announced in February 2022 that the fifth season would be its last and that they had always imagined the show to end at a certain point instead of doing on and losing its lucidity.
In an interview, while talking about the show’s fifth season, executive producer and director, Shawn Levy said that he and his entire team always wanted to end the show before the fans wanted it to end. Saying that many shows compromise the quality of their story just to make more episodes and seasons. “Well, we never wanted to run on fumes and we wanted to only tell as much story as the brothers saw and feel with clarity.” the director said.
The director reassures people that it will be worth it even though the wait has been long. He said ” I’ll just once again reaffirm what I’ve told everyone, which is it has been a long-ass wait for season four. But I swear to God, the world will realize it’s worth it.”
