The Witcher season 2 isn’t coming to Netflix in September 2021
The Witcher season 2 is eventually going to make its way to Netflix and show us what’s next in Geralt’s adventures with Ciri. However, it’s not going to happen in the following month.
Fans of the popular fantasy series are waiting for the new batch of installments. It’s quite expected, that’s because we watched an excellent first season which left us with many unanswered questions as to what would happen next in this saga. As you might remember, Geralt finally found his destiny at the end of the first season, and his fate with Ciri will converge. Yennefer, on the other hand, does not seem well, given all the sorcery she did during the war.
While there are some season 2 photos that can help us to guess what’s next, it’s best to wait for the whole season. So, when can we finally watch the new season? Well, not this month. Still, we at least know the release date of The Witcher season 2

A couple of months ago, the only thing we knew for certain about the second season’s release date was a Q4 2021 release. Therefore, we could only make some speculations for a narrower release date. However, that all changed with the announcement Netflix made at WitcherCon.
The Witcher season 2 is going to come to Netflix on December 17. That’s almost two years after the release of season one. When you think about it, two years is an unusually long interval between the seasons. However, it’s quite expected as the pandemic affected all of the series – The Witcher is no exception to that. To add to the ordeal, the star Henry Cavill injured himself while filming, so that delayed the wrap-up, too. In the end, the wait is over, and Netflix will give us the new season this December.

If you’re eagerly waiting for the new season to come out but still want to watch some The Witcher right now, we’ve got your back. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which is an anime feature film that tells of Vesemir, who’s the mentor of Geralt, is out on Netflix now. You can watch it to see what the witchers had to go through. There aren’t any crossovers with the current series as the anime takes place many years before.
We’re going to see a great and ambitious new season according to the showrunner Lauren Hissrich. She thinks that the confidence level of the crew boosted after the successful release of season one. So, they’re working on bigger things and taking bigger chances. Well, given how much we enjoyed season one, the mention of an even better season surely excites the fans.

“The truth is, by the time the show launched in December of 2019, we were already immersed in Season 2. But in terms of the production, the renewal gave everyone permission to take a lot more chances, bigger gambles. It just gives everyone that sense of confidence they need to find new levels. Some of the things we’re working on right now are just beyond comprehension in terms of size and scope. I could not be more excited.”
