Netflix shared the official trailer for the anime The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Quite expectedly, fans received that trailer very well.

The official teaser for The Witcher anime was dropped on July 21, 2021, and it seemed pretty good. Ever since we saw the teaser, we’ve been waiting for something more, namely, a trailer. We needed something that would show us more from the anime. Fortunately, it’s here now. The trailer for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf reveals the details about the story of this anime. Furthermore, Castlevania fans absolutely adored the new trailer as it seems similar to their favorite anime.

As Castlevania is a hugely popular Netflix action anime that’s based on a video game, and this The Witcher anime shares those features as well, expectations are sky-high. Virtually everyone who watched Castlevania loved the series. Therefore, they hope The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will be as successful as Castlevania. While we cannot say anything for certain right now, the trailer looks very promising. Check it out below.

Previously, we only knew that this anime movie would focus on Vesemir, who’s the mentor of Geralt. We know more about the anime right now, thanks to the official trailer. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will focus on the difference between humans and witchers, how humans take a stance against the witchers, and how a witcher is created. We’ll not only learn more about Vesemir‘s origins but we will also see the sentiment towards the witchers.

The trailer clearly shows how humans hate the witchers, as one of the witchers says: “The only thing keeping men from hunting us are the scarier beasts we keep away.”

After that, we see some incredible actions scenes in which Vesemir tries to catch beasts, spells casts, and fights with monsters. Just like the original The Witcher series, those scenes are probably going to be like a kind of signature for the anime, too.

If you’re not initiated to this anime movie, here’s what you need to know.

“The world of The Witcher expands in this anime origin story: Before Geralt, there was his mentor Vesemir a swashbuckling young witcher who escaped a life of poverty to slay monsters for coin. But when a strange new monster begins terrorizing a politically-fraught kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on a frightening adventure that forces him to confront the demons of his past.”

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is going to come to Netflix on August 23rd.
