The Last Kingdom has had a great run on the popular streaming platform. It premiered back in 2015 on BBC America and also BBC Two. The series later landed on Netflix in 2018 and managed to attract a solid audience. Originally based on Bernard Cornwell&#8216;s bestselling novels, The Last Kingdom follows a fictional character called Uthred of Babbenburg and his journey during the Norse invasion. The first two seasons of the series were primarily adapted from the books. Though the third season also had a similar plot, Netflix has made the show undergone a lot of changes. Though this was not negative as The Last Kingdom season 3 and season 4 had much more production value and the overall quality increased a lot.
Well, the fans of the series are waiting for the final season of The Last Kingdom. The streaming giant renewed the series in 2020 and the production of the fifth season began. Now, as of June 2021, The Last Kingdom season 5 is a wrap. The cast and the crew have finished the most difficult part of the production and the series.
