The Adam Project: Jennifer Garner Gushes About Her Co-star and Director Shawn Levy in Her Latest Interview

Ryan Reynolds’ starrer sci-fi action, The Adam Project dropped on Netflix on March 11 to rave reviews. The movie is the perfect popcorn entertainer perfect for the weekends. The Shawn Levy-directed multi starrer also includes Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana. Actress, Jennifer revealed her reason to be a part of the project to India Today.

The 49-year-old actress was very excited about the project as soon as it fell into her lap. She couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to work with Shawn Levy and reunite with Mark again. For fans of 13 Going on 30, this reunion was poignant. 

 “Oh gosh! I loved the story, the basic idea, I loved everyone involved. Shawn Levy is a director I wanted to work with for a really long time. But, then also getting to work again with Mark was an absolute bonus. It was a no-brainer. There was no way that I was not going to do it,” she said. While Mark revealed that he was attracted to the concept of time.

When asked about working with Ryan, Jennifer enthusiastically answered that she always wanted to play her mother! “About Ryan Reynolds, I always wanted to play his mom.” In reality, these two actors are only four years apart!

She also talks about her character

Jennifer Garner plays Ryan’s mother in The Adam Project. She is grieving the loss of her husband while juggling work and trying to protect her bullied son. 

Talking about her character in the Netflix movie, she says, “This is a woman who recently lost her husband in a tragic accident. And, her son is really angry and she is trying to do the best she can. She is trying to figure out the method her husband used to pay the bills. She is trying to take care of a child who gets in trouble over and over again. The gift of the film is that her son, as an adult, comes back and visits her. He heals her wounds in the present moment.”
