Now, Netflix recently has revealed the look of the upcoming original The Adam Project directed by Shawn Levy, which features the star-studded cast.

The Adam Project is an upcoming American science fiction film, which unveils the story of a time traveler who went back in time to get help from his younger self. The father of the time traveler accepts his past to protect him from the future.

Ryan Reynolds claims, “I haven’t personally done a movie that reflects my life the way ‘The Adam Project’ does.” The director of the film Levy explained he tried to intensify the time travel in the project with relatable characters and themes. Ryan Reynolds as Adam is the lead of the film, who time travels to the past to save his love, Laura played by Zoe Saldaña. In his past, he meets his younger self played by Walker Scobell, and his father played by Mark Ruffalo.

The pictures have a rustic flick, where he meets a grown-up and younger version of Adam at the same time. In another picture, we can see Laura holding a high-tech metallic gun with Adam. So, we can expect there will be actions by Ryan Reynolds and Laura. The images also show that younger and older Adam confronting each other, while older Adam treating his nasty and bloody wound. In the fourth picture, Jennifer Garner is with Reynolds, who will play the past-version of Adam’s mother.

Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy have worked together in the film Free Guy. In conversation with Vanity Fair, Levy claimed both the characters of Raynolds will differ greatly from each other. He says, “This character is night-and-day different from the character Ryan played for me in our last movie. Blue Shirt Guy is a deeply innocent, naïve boy in a man’s body. Whereas Adam Reed in The Adam Project is bruised by life and consequently deeply cynical.”

In the film, the time traveler’s dad died, which is raw for Adam’s younger self. But older Adam has learned to live with it. Ryan Reynolds connects to this element from the film because he also has a restrained relationship with his father. Reynolds explains, “I have this thought about life, which is that we tell ourselves stories. So you have this central character who has told himself a story about his own father that isn’t necessarily true. I know that I’ve done that in my life. I’ve told myself stories to justify things about my father and my complicated relationship I had with him before he passed. Reconciling that is really difficult.”
