Stranger Things season 4 just announced a bunch of new cast members including some familiar faces.

Stranger Things is an astronomically popular Netflix original drama. It really needs no introduction at this point, to be honest. Debuting on the popular streaming platform back in 2016, it quickly became popular both among the fans and the critics. It has millions of viewers each year, with more on the way, expectedly.

Stranger Things currently has three seasons on Netflix, the last of which was released in 2019. The production process of the fourth season has been rough because of the pandemic. Fans have been waiting for a long time for new announcements. Fortunately, the crew just announced a bunch of new cast members on Twitter in the scope of Netflix Geeked Week. One of the new members is Anne with an E star Amybeth McNulty, and she headlights the newcomers.

Amybeth McNulty will play Vickie, who is a fast-talking band nerd. She catches the eye of one of our “beloved heroes,” as Netflix says. Let’s see who he or she is! McNulty earlier played in Anne with an E in the role of Anne Shirley. This is good news for both Stranger Things and Anne with an E fans.

Another new character from the new season is Patrick, who is a pretty popular Hawkins basketball player, who has a good life. Until some unexpected events happen and turn his life upside down, that is. The actor that will play Patrick is Myles Truitt, who played Issa Williams in the TV series Black Lightning.

Ms. Kelly is yet another new character that will appear in Stranger Things season 4. She is a guidance counselor who cares about her students. Regina Ting Chen will play Ms. Kelly. She appeared in Black Lightning, too. Chen also played in the TV series Queen of the South.

And the last addition to the crew is Chrissy, who’s the lead cheerleader of Hawkins‘ High. You’d expect her to be popular, and she is. Even though she looks perfect, there’s a secret beneath. The actor playing Chrissy is Grace Van Dien, who appeared as Katie Campbell in The Village.

There’s no exact release date on the horizon, but the season is probably coming in 2022 according to Finn Wolfhard. The filming, on the other hand, is set to wrap up filming this August, as David Harbour says.
