Netflix has lots of great animes to offer in August 2021. The streaming giant plans to release new and returning anime series this month as well. With that said, there is another anime series that goes back all the way to 2001. Yes, we are also waiting eagerly for the reboot series of Shaman King. It is among the new titles that we are going to binge-watch this summer.
The series is originally an adaptation of a manga with the same name. It follows a medium called Yoh Asakura who tries to win the title of the Shaman King to become a powerful and celestial being. The manga series started its publishing run back in 1998 and ended in 2004. The adaptation anime, on the other hand, started its original run on July 4th, 2001, and ended on September 25, 2002.
The upcoming series will not only introduce the world of shamans once again, but it will also offer an overall rework of the series. The desire for a reboot has been in the talks since 2015. After the studio Bridge took the lead, the cast and the crew of the series began working on the production. And finally, Netflix made an acquisition of the streaming rights to make it available on the platform.

Fortunately, Netflix has revealed the release date for the Shaman King reboot during Geeked Week event. The official premiere date of the anime is August 9th, 2021.

The anime series follows a shaman named Yoh Asakura. Yoh is a medium that is able to see both the world of the living and the dead. And his goal is to achieve the title of the Shaman King as it allows one to reach the Great Spirit to assume control of the world.
In order to contact the mighty and the divine spirit, Yoh must gain victory in the ultimate tournament named Shaman Fight. Yet he faces his brother Hao Asakura in his epic journey, who wants to become the Shaman King only to bring destruction to the world.
Here&#8217;s the official synopsis of Shaman King:
&#8220;The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Medium Yoh Asakura joins the epic Shaman Fight, competing with other shamans in a bid to become the all-powerful Shamna King while facing an opponent bent on the disaster.&#8221;
