Is Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness season 2 happening? Are we going to see another season of the CG series based on the video game franchise?

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness has landed on the popular streaming platform on July 8, 2021. The first season of the CG series takes viewers on a journey to the world of Resident Evil, a famous video game franchise. Each episode in the first season lasts about 25 minutes and depicts a post-apocalyptic world filled with infected monster-like people. It also introduces the iconic characters that we have seen in the video game series.

The long-awaited CG series follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they unite once again to confront the incidents that happen in Penamstan Civil War. Their task is to go to Penamstan and rescue the MIA (missing in action) soldiers. Though they find themselves in a dark conspiracy and team up to understand what is really going and unravel the mysteries of the outbreak.

The adapted CG series has hit Netflix and the hardcore fans have binge-watched the four episodes as well. Now they are wondering whether we are going to see another season based on the long-running video game series Resident Evil?

Though the series was amazing and successfully managed to transfer the atmosphere of the games to animation, we do not have any information regarding a second season. As the show has just made its debut on the platform, fans might have to wait for some time to hear about a new season. On the other hand, we should not forget the possibility that Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness might be a miniseries. This means that we will not get to see another season as the limited series only offer one season and does not continue after that.

With that said, if the streaming giant decides to order a new season of Infinite Darkness, we will have to wait at least a year to watch the new episodes. That is a bit optimistic though as Netflix has a lot of projects on its plate and takes its time before ordering another season for a title.
