The trailer for Netflix’s Rescued by Ruby, a biographical comedy-drama starring Grant Gustin, aka The CW’s Flash, has just been released.

Grant Gustin is best known for his portrayal of Barry Allen/The Flash in The CW’s Arrowverse series. He’s been playing the DC hero for nearly a decade. This is his first feature-length film in five years, following his appearance in William H. Macy’s coming-of-age drama Krystal.

Trailer explained

The trailer follows Gustin’s character and the dog, Ruby. Officer Dan (Gustin), a state trooper hoping to be reassigned to the K-9 Unit, is looking everywhere for an opportunity. Unfortunately for Dan, his commanding officer does not believe he is ready for a new position. The head officer believes Dan lacks the “calm and focus” required to stand behind the leash of a K-9 team, according to a voice-over. Despite his efforts to have his case reconsidered, Dan’s hopes are dashed when he learns that the force does not have the funds to purchase a new dog.

Dan then visits a nearby shelter in search of a dog to adopt. Where he discovers Ruby, who has been returned seven times because of her feisty and vibrant personality. Dan, on the other hand, is determined to take her with him. Dan teaches Ruby how to be a family dog and a law enforcement partner through countless hours of training. This film depicts a difficult journey for both Ruby and Dan. Not only is Dan helping Ruby, but Ruby is also aiding Dan in becoming a better person and a better K-9 officer.
