For years now, there have been speculations about Netflix’s resident monster hunter, Henry Cavill, taking home this title.

Another heartthrob in the running this year was the South Korean rapper and songwriter Kim Nam-Joon. Leader of the celebrated boy band BTS, he has an immense fan following all over the world. However, despite both of them being popular choices, it was a familiar face from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who beat them to the punch. Any guesses?

Beating Henry Cavill and many others, THIS MCU star is the Sexiest Man Alive 2022

From his comeback as DC’s Superman to constant rumors around him being the next Bond, 2022 has been an amazing year for Henry Cavill. His fans were almost certain that he would take home People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive crown home. Alas, he still did not quite make the cut. Having said that, with Chris Evans getting hotter by the second and aging in reverse, it is hardly a surprise that the honor went to him.

Just last night, on November 7, our very own Captain America won the distinguished title. Just like last year, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert made the announcement. In line with his signature humor, the talk show host took his time to build up to the reveal.

“It is with humility and gratitude that I am thrilled to announce that People magazine has decided to award me the incredible honor,” declared Colbert, setting up the premise of his Joke. As the studio audience applauded uproariously, he continued, “Of announcing the sexiest man alive for a second year in a row!”

Furthermore, he hilariously declared the finalists to be Chris Evans and yet another satirist and late-night show presenter, John Oliver. After stretching out the narrative to its extent, he finally revealed The Gray Man actor to be the winner.

While Evans was not physically present at the announcement, the 2016 title holder, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, bestowed the sash upon the Knives Out actor in a pre-recorded video. Nevertheless, Evans later expressed his joy over the title during a photoshoot with People Magazine.

“My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about,” said the MCU star.
