The series stars Imani Lewis and Sarah Catherine Hook as Calliope and Juliette, two teenage girls who have a meet-cute at their high school and fall head over heels in love. It is based on a short story by horror writer V. E. Schwab that was originally published in the 2020 anthology “Vampires Never Get Old: Tales With Fresh Bite.”

But their connection rapidly becomes complex when they learn their true identities: Calliope is the daughter of a long line of vampire hunters, and Juliette is a “legacy,” a kid born into a vampire family. To make matters worse. Both of their families are preparing them for their “first kills,” a rite of passage for vampires and hunters alike.
