Netflix is set to give the viewers some of the best films in 2022. The streaming platform has given enormous multi-million dollar budget films in the past like the Old Guard, Extraction, and Red Notice. Another action film that will soon enter the list is The Gray Man. The much-awaited film is making its way through Netflix in 2022 with a $200 million budget. This can be Netflix’s 1st mega-franchise film, which will see the sun for the next few years.

The Gray Man is an upcoming American Netflix Original film by Anthony and Joe Russo, starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas in the lead roles. A 2009 novel of the same name inspired this Netflix Original. The film revolves around a CIA veteran and his escape from his own organisation.

The Gray Man release date

The film has wrapped up its filming and production. In conversation with Variety, the director of the film, Joe Russo claims, “We’re working on The Gray Man right now with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, slated for release this [coming] summer. We’re hard at work at editorial on that. I think we’ll probably lock a picture on that sometime in February. We’ve got some big VFX to work on in it. So scoring, VFX all takes place until we release it.”

Netflix still hasn’t confirmed the official date, but we can expect the film will release later this year.

The Gray Man cast

Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans will play the lead character as Court Gentry and Lloyd Hansen, respectively.

Chris Evans plays the role of villain in the movie. Joe Russo explains, “He’s a unique character, and this is Evans as a villain, so it’s a really interesting character and I think he’s going to get to flex quite a bit in this role.”

Official synopsis

The Gray Man is a spy thriller, where a CIA operative was betrayed by his people. Court Gentry, one of the most skillful officers, coincidentally reveals some dark secrets of the agency and his psychopathic colleague becomes the bounty hunter and promises to kill Gentry, setting off a global hunt with international murderers. Hansen has to kill Gentry to finalize a billion-dollar deal in Nigeria.
