Netflix has a vast library of adventurous fantasy mystery films and Midnight at the Pera Palace just adds to the list. Midnight at the Pera Palace by Nisan Dag and Emre Sahin has created a name for itself and attracted all the international audiences. The television series follows a journalist, Esra, who was appointed to write a column about the fine hotel. But little did she know she will have a onetime life adventure and transfer her to 1919. But that’s not the end of her adventure. She even gets herself involved in a political conspiracy.

The plot of the television series takes us back to time-traveling, which is obviously not possible. Or is it?

We can’t give you a hundred percent confirmation, but partially the plot is based on a true story. The novel of the same name by Charles King inspired the show Midnight at the Pera Palace. Despite that, the film does not do justice to the series. They set the novel in the time of New Year’s Eve of 1925 when the common people of Turkey take up the Gregorian calendar instead of the Islamic one.
