The Netflix Hub: Incorporating Netflix into Spotify

Netflix has been working on diversification for a long time now. What was first a platform for shows and movies now is also a production house that creates Netflix Originals. With social media presence all over Twitter and Instagram, and not to forget the multiple YouTube channels, the platform isn’t doing quite so badly. Adding to this, Netflix has now made itself available on Spotify, one of the world’s largest music streaming service.

Regardless of whether viewers like the show they have watched, one thing most agree on is that Netflix has some of the best soundtracks. Not only do the songs match the aesthetic and theme of the show, but they also are usually extremely beautiful. Some popular examples would be “La Vie En Rose” from Emily in Paris and “Should I Stay or Should I Go” from Stranger Things.

Another masterpiece is the soundtrack of Dear White PeopleThe show featured music from all decades and genres, from 70s R&B to 90s rock and 2010s hip-hop. Not to forget artists ranging from the likes of Childish Gambino to Tchaikovsky. For its time, even 13 Reasons Why had a great soundtrack but couldn’t get the recognition it deserved, despite its popularity.

Putting an end to this, Netflix has released its official account on Spotify called The Netflix Hub with playlists of each show. No more annoying usage of Shazam or hours wasted looking for songs. You can now find soundtracks of your favorite Netflix titles right on Spotify.

To make the user experience even better, Netflix has added Podcasts as well. If watching a show and listening to its soundtrack repeatedly isn’t enough, the platform has made available podcasts on everything from behind-the-scenes talk shows to a-joke-a-day programs.
