Netflix to Stream ‘Drifting Home’ a Coming of the Age Anime by the Same Studio the Gave Us ‘A Whisker Away’
Netflix anime library is a totally different world of its own. They have animes ranging from suitable for children to even giving their parents chills. And till now, Netflix has yet to announce an anime for kids. But that changes today. The streaming platform has announced a new kids anime Drifting Home. The new anime has a highly critically acclaimed studio behind it that guarantees the quality of the movie.

What is Drifting Home on Netflix about?

The anime movie is about relationships, bonds, and the ability to forgive others. The film revolves around Kosuke and Natsume, who have been close since they were children. However, once Kosuke’s grandpa Yasutsugu passes away in sixth grade, their connection begins to fade.
Kosuke and his classmates sneak into an apartment complex that is about to be destroyed and is reputed to be haunted one day during their summer vacation. Kosuke and Natsume both grew up there. Therefore, it has many memories for them. There, Kosuke runs into Natsume and is questioned whether he knows about the strange Noppo. But suddenly, they become caught up in bizarre phenomena.
A large ocean surrounds them when they wake up. They come together to try to live as the apartment complex floats on a mystery sea with Kosuke and the others on board.
Playing Kosuke Kumagai is Mutsumi Tamura and Natsume Usagiuchi is Asami Seto.
Masterminds behind the film
Ishida directed directs Drifting Home, which was based on a script he co-wrote with Hayashi Mori (Cells at Work! Code Black). Twin Engine is in charge of the film’s production, while Studio Colorido is in charge of the animation.

Studio Colorido received worldwide acclaim for A Whisker Away, which was released on Netflix in 2020, following the release of their first feature film, Penguin Highway, in 2018.
Drifting Home, the company’s long-awaited third feature-length picture, has the stunning animation fans have come to expect from the studio, with a visual style that transports viewers from reality to a magical realm.

The film will start streaming globally on September 16only on Netflix.
