It has been almost a week since Stranger Things has been streaming globally on Netflix. So naturally, when almost 7 billion people stream a show, only one thing can happen next: theories. Thousands of theories for Stranger Things season 4 have started to pour in and have completely taken over the internet. Now some of these theories are too far-fetched to be true. However, a theory has come up about Max and her miraculous escape from Vecna’s trance. And it does sound convincing.

Did Eleven save Max in Stranger Things season 4?

One of the most thrilling and nerve-wracking moments of season 4 was Max escaping Vecna’s curse. It not only established the medium of defeating a previously unbeatable villain but also gave us a look at Max in a way we had never seen her before.

However, a fan of the show has posted a theory about the victory of Max over Vecna, and she is suggesting that it was actually Eleven who saved her.

The argument that the fan has put forward is that music as such did not have much of an effect on Vecna/01. But it was the fact that 01 was still afraid of El, and the last memory that flashed in Max’s mind was of her friends El’s.

So it could be possible that seeing El made Vecna scared, giving Max a chance to save her life.

The fan also mentioned that it could be possible that music might not have such a great effect on Vecna as everyone is thinking. Because according to the fan, when Vecna was about to kill his dad, he got unconscious and not because music had anything to do with it.

The theory certainly has a base to it as it was indeed El who banished 01 to Upside Down after he betrayed her. Maybe this theory will become clearer when Stranger Things season 4 Volume 2 releases in July. But all theories aside, Dear Billy was an extremely important episode for the narrative of the future of the show.
