Netflix canceled its new sitcom Country Comfort, starring Katharine McPhee, after just one season.

Netflix gives us new content every now and then. However, we don’t get to see what’s next in some series as they are not watched enough to be sustainable. Apparently, Country Comfort has been one of those poor performers for Netflix. The popular streaming platform canceled its Netflix Original comedy series after one season. We won’t see any more of it unless the streaming platform decides to renew it one day, which is not likely at all. In addition to this, Netflix canceled other series at the same time such as The Crew, Mr. Iglesias, and Bonding. Before Country Comfort, we saw Netflix cancel The Duchess and Jupiter’s Legacy in 2021.

If you’re not familiar with Country Comfort, let us talk about it a bit for you. Netflix released the series back on March 19th. It’s a situational comedy series that has a lot of talented actors in its cast. The premise is about a promising young country singer who takes a job as a nanny for a cowboy. She turns out to be a lovely nanny, whom the five children love. She fills up the missing mother role in the family. Country Comfort sits at a 6.9 rating on IMDb, which is not exceptionally bad. Here’s the official synopsis of Country Comfort.

“When her career and personal life get detailed, an aspiring young country singer named Bailey (Katharine McPhee) takes a job as a nanny for a rugged cowboy named Beau (Eddie Cibrian) and his five children. With a never-give up attitude and loads of Southern charm, this newbie-nanny is able to navigate the family dynamics and be the mother figure they’ve been missing. To her surprise, Bailey also gets the band she’s been missing in this musically talented family who help get her back on the road to stardom.”

Caryn Lucas is the creator of Country Comfort for Netflix. Previously, she worked on many other TV series such as Young & Hungry, Happily Divorced, and What I Like About You.

It’s disappointing for the fans that Netflix canceled the series just after one season, but there’s nothing to do. Let’s hope they can renew it again in the future, though it seems impossible.
