Why did Zack Snyder choose Henry Cavill for the Man of Steel?

Henry Cavill, he has got the looks and he has got the physique. Moreover he is also an incredible actor. But, director Zack Snyder had another reason to cast the Enola Holmes actor in his film. Previously, in one of his appearances the Justice League director revealed why he chose Henry for Clark Kent and it is not for his good looks. The Army of the Dead director revealed, “But in the end, I think Henry just has this innocence. Superman needs the teeniest bit of that. Not to be overt, but you like it to be there ever so slightly.”

Furthermore, Zack added how Cavill’s muscular physique and good looks were an added bonus. Snyder also explained how since Superman is from Kansas, a bit of innocence was a pre-requisite for the role. Superman is certainly a fan-favorite character and seeing Cavill put on his Kryptonian suit again would be a dream come true for all DC extended universe fans. Interestingly, the Geralt of Rivia also revealed how he is extremely determined to redeem Superman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2 if it ever happens.
