Netflix is currently obsessed with Chris Hemsworth so much that having a new production with him was not enough. They brought his older film for streaming, and we are grateful for it. Netflix has started streaming Blackhat, and it is winning people’s hearts. So, what is the film about?
Blackhat- synopsis cast and trailer
Blackhat is a 2015 action mystery thriller that Michael Mann has written, directed, and produced. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, Tang Wei, Viola Davis, Holt McCallany, and Wang Leehom.
The movie is about American and Chinese agencies working together to capture a cybercriminal who seems unmotivated by politics or finance as he seeks to cripple the international banking network. With the help of furloughed convict Nicholas Hathaway (Hemsworth), the authorities pursue the mysterious figure through Chicago, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Jakarta.
The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
Does the audience like it?
The initial reaction of the film when it was first released in 2015 was very poor. It was a box office bomb, with the film collecting just $19.7 million out of its $70 million budget.
But since its Netflix release, the movie has been receiving a warm reaction. The film is currently in the top 10 trending list in the US Netflix chart. Furthermore, Twitterati has been raving about the 2015 film as well.
Michael Mann's BLACKHAT is streaming on Netflix. One of his most formally ambitious works, a cybercrime thriller made up of codes and ciphers, about the creeping omniscience of hidden circuitry and the existential paranoia of a world being hacked from the inside out. pic.twitter.com/sy3nsO7Hvn

Blackhat is a perfect choice for a late afternoon watch. The movie has some great action sequences(thanks to Michael Mann), and the film maintains the thrill till the very satisfying climax.
