What the actors had to say about the last episode of season 3 of YOU

In a very overturned scene, Joe ends up killing his wife, blaming her for all the murders, burning down their house, and disappearing. As Penn Badgley quotes it- “It’s life or death for both of them,” and evidently, Joe found his way out.

Another scene that deserves special attention is the conversation between Love and Marienne. Two women, who were struggling to raise their respective children, both of whom were awfully abused by the men in their lives, and both wronged by Joe. They definitely connected through the damage they’ve borne and Victoria Pedretti talks fondly about the empowering scene.

Here’s the interview featuring the actors of the Netflix Original from Netflix Still Watching:

The premise of the show

For fans who don’t remember the show in detail, here’s a little recap of the third season of YOU.

The third season of the Netflix Original begins with Joe and Love moving to a suburban town called Madre Linda in California. Netflix describes the people of the picture-perfect fictional town as “privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous bio-hackers.”

While Love has no issue with a quiet suburban life, Joe isn’t happy. Relocating from New York to Los Angeles was ghastly enough for him. Moving to a small suburban town in the middle of California was definitely painful, to say the least.

Hence, he finds things he can keep himself obsessed with- the first of which was a neighbor. Natalie Enger was a flirtatious but innocent woman who Joe was obsessed with and Love wound up killing by the end of the first episode itself.

Throughout the series, the psychotic couple racks up the numbers in their individual death count. There even is a couple that ends up in the infamous cage together! Who can also forget the fact that they each grazed each other with a bullet? Obviously not shot dead, just grazed- they’re in love.

And, of course, there’s Joe and Love’s story- not the killing aspect of it, the being in love aspect of it. Joe is clearly not as interested in Love as he was in the previous season, and she can see it. He stalks Natalie, and then Marienne. Joe also ends up killing a man for the latter, something that was the last straw for Love.
