Every once in a while comes a role or a character in a movie or a show that fans instantly fall in love with. Perfectly fitting that description was Henry Cavill as the Geralt of Rivia in the sci-fi series The Witcher. Even though Cavill has played a plethora of characters over the years, the Geralt of Rivia is still one of his most popular roles to date. Not long ago, the Enola Holmes star bid farewell to the role. However, recently the franchise seemingly paid tribute to the British icon.

As we all know, before Netflix’s blockbuster series made its way to the platform, The Witcher was already a very popular video game franchise. Furthermore, it had a huge influence on the show as well. And recently, The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt got a huge major update. So how did the award-winning video game thank Cavill?

What is the hidden Henry Cavill Easter egg in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got a major update, bringing in some exciting changes in the game. Apart from the update in graphics and improvement in the quality of life, the game has something exciting for the fans. The update comes with a new quest and a hidden Easter egg. Apparently, the video game franchise paid tribute to the Cavill, who previously starred as Geralt.

One of the major additions to the game is a dog named Kal. Interestingly, even Cavill’s Akita has the same name. Apparently, the pooch is seen roaming around Velen near the Devil’s Pit in the game. However, the player must have the latest update installed to find Kal. Meanwhile, Philip Weber, the game’s acting and narrative director confirmed that Ken was featured in the game to honor the British actor.

Previously, after the news of Cavill retiring from the Superman role broke out, Weber tweeted how he was sad by the news. Furthermore, he continued how Kal was a way of “showing appreciation for great passion and enthusiasm.” Meanwhile, after dropping two major franchises, Cavill is all set to return to our screens through his new series Warhammer 40K, based on the game.
