That also means any upset about a particular angle gets an instant backlash from them as well.

Now, the love story between Yennefer and Geralt of Rivia bloomed through the first season until the second one. The storyline has put a rather abrupt end to that angle, leaving invested viewers heartbroken. But what happened between the characters and can the series fix this issue between Cavill’s exit?

The Witcher has drama, action, mysticism, and a sprinkle of love between the main characters. While Geralt of Rivia is usually on adventures, swinging his sword, his soft spot for Yennefer has been a melting point, adding a little softness to the show. But that changed in the second season. As per Screenrant, some of Yennefer’s decisions affected her relationship with the Witcher in a negative way. Although this has to be fixed if they do not want to lose on a plotline in the upcoming season.

Now, The Witcher show is sometimes criticized for not sticking to the source. But then adding a backstory to Yennefer’s character helped both the viewers and the main character connect to her with more intensity and depth. But her losing her powers sets her off on a different journey. By the end of the last season, she gained her powers, but at the cost of losing the Witcher’s trust.

With Cavill leaving the show after season 3, Liam Hemsworth has the added pressure of striking off great chemistry with Anya Chaltora if the on-screen love story is to continue.

How the next season of The Witcher can fix this problem

In order to help bloom their love story, it is important for Geralt to first forgive Yennefer. Perhaps season 3 should showcase more conflict and focus on bringing them close through the episodes. Establishing a deeper connection will also form a base work for when Liam Hemsworth takes over. More mingling or scenarios together in Season 3 will certainly help heal old wounds and win back trust.
