Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put up a united show in front of the world after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The Sussexes alongside Kate Middleton and Prince William walked outside Windsor Castle to greet the mourners. Though the family looked united during the funeral and service, it will be interesting to see if they can maintain the same image during King Charles III’s coronation ceremony as well.
Charles will be taking the oath next year on May 06 at the historic Westminster Abbey. A grand ceremony is expected for the prestigious occasion with the who’s who of the world in attendance. Naturally, all the members of the royal family will also be present at the ceremony. However, there is a question mark on the attendance of King’s younger son Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan. The couple will have to travel from California to the United Kingdom to participate in the event.
Harry and Meghan to be invited to the ceremony?
One interesting fact about the coronation date is that it falls on the same day as Archie’s birthday. King’s grandchild will be turning four that day. It is being speculated that the clash between the coronation date and Archie’s birthday is deliberate to snub Harry and Meghan from the ceremony. However, the royal expert Katie Nicholl denied such claims. She revealed that an invitation will be sent to the Sussexes just like the other members of the royal family. However, it is the couple who has to take the call.
“We haven’t got any official details on the guest list. But I’m hearing they are likely to be invited along with other senior and extended family members,” Nicholl said while speaking to Entertainment Tonight.
Further, the royal author revealed that Queen Consort Camilla is hoping for her stepson Harry to attend the ceremony. She wants the entire family together on a high-profile day and is thus “very keen” about seeing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the coronation.
