Will Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation be different from the anime?
One Piece is one of the most popular titles there is, both in anime and manga. Apart from that, it is also one of the longest-running series with over 1000 episodes. Although the adaptation was announced in 2017, the crew wrapped filming recently in Cape Town, South Africa. Tomorrow studios are the key production company behind this series.
With the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga on its way, cinematographer Nicole Hirsch Whitaker and director Marc Jobst said that they want the “live-action to stand on its own and not merely be a carbon copy of the anime.” They precisely want the series to carve a niche out for itself.
However, similar to the anime the live-action series will also follow the story of Monkey D Luffy and the rest of the straw hat pirates on the lookout for the mythical treasure, One Piece. Furthermore, the live-action will adapt the East Blue Saga, the introductory saga of the anime series.
Who are all going to be a part of the series?
