Breaking Stranger Things’ record is no easy feat. After all, it is Netflix’s flagship show. The streaming giant’s server crashed on the night part 2 of the show dropped. Although Wednesday didn’t cause the streamer to crash, it was an ultimate smash if viewership is taken into account. It has now entered the most-watched English shows of all time in the ranks. As expected, without wasting any time, the streamer quickly renewed the show. And while we still haven’t gotten any information regarding the release of the second season, we have some casting updates. Interestingly, Michael Keaton is set to join Jenna Ortega in the darkly comedic show. 

As reported by Giant Freakin Robot, Michael Keaton is in talks to join the Tim Burton show. If the actor does join the cast list, it will be his nth number of collaborations with Burton. The duo has worked together several times in the 1980s. Burton created the iconic character Beetlejuice, which Keaton played marvelously. They worked together again in Dumbo. Before Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson or Ben Affleck became the Dark Knight, it was Keaton that originally popularized the vigilante. Hence, it is very likely for Keaton to reunite with Burton again after years. 

The Batman star is also currently experiencing a career resurgence. He was roped into the Marvel fold and played the Spider-Man villain. And he is soon to don the masked vigilante suit again for the upcoming The Flash. His performance in Spotlight and Birdman also received nods from the critics. 

Although this is wonderful news, we still don’t have any information about his character. But we can surely speculate.

What role can Michael Keaton play alongside Jenna Ortega in Wednesday 2?

The Spotlight star can reprise his role of Beetlejuice in the second installment of Wednesday. This would actually make a great crossover since Jenna Ortega is reportedly joining the cast of Beetlejuice 2! 

However, there is still scope for writers to write in a full-fledged role for the actor. The finale showed Nevermore’s principal dying and the school shutting down. For sure, the school would need a new principal and Keaton can perfectly fill in the role. Certainly, the duo can bring a new vibe to the show since Jenna is already very clear about what she wants for Wednesday for season 2.
