Being one of the most popular streaming websites, Netflix has received abundant love from viewers. Over the years, the American streaming service has delivered some of the best shows across all genres ranging from action, thriller, fantasy, and science fiction to comedy, drama, romance, and much more. However, with admiration comes hate and troll as well. Recently, ‘Troll Netflix’ started trending on Twitter.

It is not new for the streaming service to get trolled for one thing or another, as fans often like to poke fun at the streamer’s expense. However, the Troll Netflix trend confused social media users as they couldn’t decide whether people were again mocking the streaming platform or they were referring to the new Netflix monster movie.

What is Troll all about?

One of the major reasons behind Troll Netflix trending is because of Roar Uthaug’s fantasy movie, Troll, releasing on the streamer tentatively on December 01. The monster first made an appearance in one of the episodes of Community. Troll is a Pierce Norwegian doll that scared the living daylights of Troy in the sitcom.

The Norwegian doll comes back to life deep inside the mountains of Dovre after being trapped for a long thousand years. The mystic creature sets out on a journey to the capital of Norway and it is up to a rag-tag group of heroes to come together and save the city.

Notably, Troll will revolve around how the group of heroes saves the people from the atrocities of the gigantic creature. This is a dream project for Roar Uthaug, as it took him over two decades to turn his imagination into a reality. The series features some notable actors, including the likes of Ine Marie Wilmann, Pål Richard Lunderby, Gard B. Eidsvold, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, and Kim Falck.

People criticizing the streaming platform with Troll Netflix

The American streaming platform is also being subjected to some kind of trolling for its advertisements and other reasons. Netflix lost around a million subscribers in the first quarter of 2022. The data has pushed the service into a panic mode and they are coming up with new ideas now and then to ensure a good report for the coming years.

Netflix is coming up with various packages that will be low on cost but will have advertisements. The news hasn’t gone down well with many viewers and they have explicitly shown their denial over the same. Meanwhile, the platform is also facing flak for the idea of password protection. They can potentially do this to restrict a subscriber from sharing his account with other people. Not only this, Netflix comes under fire for canceling fan-favorite shows. It has been a pattern where the most-liked series don’t get another season.

As Netflix is due to release Troll in 2022, are you excited to watch the movie? Let us know in the comments.
