It is not often that an A-lister Hollywood actor endorses your business. It is even rarer when he takes on social media to rave about it. So while in the UK, Ryan Reynolds ordered a meal from an Indian restaurant. But to everyone’s surprise, the restaurant owners had no idea who he was! The Indian restaurant which is located in the town of Cheshire, Ellesmere Port has been in the news since a shoutout from the Deadpool actor.

Ryan Reynolds took on social media to praise the Indian restaurant

The owners of Balti House– Light of India restaurant were unaware of the buzz that their business made on the internet. That is until Shah Rahman, a member of the family that runs the restaurant woke up one morning. While scrolling through social media, he checked an Instagram story by the Green Lantern star (whom he follows) and recognized the flyer. It was of his own family restaurant with the caption ‘best Indian restaurant in Europe’. Rahman’s sister also came up to him to share the news. And since he wasn’t present in the restaurant that night, he ran to his parents and asked whether Ryan Reynolds visited their restaurant. To his surprise, they responded with, ‘Who is Ryan Reynolds?’

Maybe they do not ‘Netlflix and chill’ so much. But they were in the restaurant helping out. In an interview with Ladbible, Shah saidThey don’t know who he is, which is quite surprising.” The family later checked through the order history. But couldn’t find out what was ordered or whether he came in or ordered a takeaway.

The Rahman family has been running their Balti House restaurant since the 1980s spanning around 3 generations now. Safe to say, they have been doing well on their own. Although the buzz is likely to increase the restaurant business even more.

But while most people responded to Reynold’s post positively, some pushed the negative narrative claiming that it was paid publicity. The owners shrugged off the claims by saying “We’re a very small business – we can’t afford to pay Ryan Reynolds!”. The family wishes to invite Ryan Reynolds, the co-owner of football club Club Wrexham back into their restaurant and have a chat with him. And in his honor, maybe even name a dish after him called ‘Deadpool masala’. Sounds like an interesting dish. Would you want to try it?
