The show is about a gang of four hilariously foul-mouthed Catholic high school girls (and their one male buddy, a small English lad named James) in Londonderry, Northern Ireland in the 1990s, coming-of-age during a period of political turbulence in their nation. The show stars Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, and Dylan Llewellyn.
The show has fantastic ’90s music and is a funny look at what happens when puberty and Catholicism mix. Because Season 3 is the show’s last season, it will finish as the kids’ graduation approaches. And the Troubles in Ireland come to an end.
Derry Girls, a Channel 4 production, has returned to the airways in the United Kingdom; Season 3 of Derry Girls began airing on the British channel on April 12th. The six-episode season will be shown on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, Americans will have to wait a little longer to see it online.

Regrettably, Netflix has yet to announce a debut date for Derry Girls Season 3. We can fairly presume that the show will not premiere in the US until all six episodes of Season 3 have aired in the United Kingdom. The series finale will premiere on May 17th in the United Kingdom, which means we’ll have to wait until the summer of 2022 to see it in the United States.
