When 14-Year-Old Millie Bobby Brown Pushed Back on Trolls Posing in a Mini Dress

Have you ever been the target of body shaming, hateful remarks, and endless trolling? Sadly, the breakout star of Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown has long been facing all these things. The British actress learned about the downsides of growing in the spotlight only at the age of 14. From receiving inappropriate messages from adult men to deactivating her Twitter account this young girl had to bear the negative impact of social media commentary as a child actor. However, she once pushed back at internet trolls after getting an onslaught of responses to her pictures.

Millie Bobby Brown, who often remains active on Instagram shared some photos of herself, back in 2019. In a now-deleted post, the Emmy-nominated star posed in a tight snakeskin midi dress and strappy heels reported PEOPLE. Seeing her glam outfit, people started criticizing the 14-year-old that she should dress according to kids. “Act your age for once,” one person commented.

“Don’t be in such a hurry to grow – enjoy being a kid cause it doesn’t last long,” added another.

While the Enola Holmes actor didn’t let go of these haters and quickly fought back defending her outfit. She slammed the trolls by posting an Instagram story that read: “(I know) everyone on my last pic wants me to ‘act my age’ but quite frankly its my Instagram and if I choose to post that picture and you don’t like it… scroll past it.”

During the conversation, she stated that it is difficult to be despised especially when you don’t know the reason. And she couldn’t understand why people hated her so much when they don’t even know her.

However, Millie Bobby Brown did pass through all the unhealthy trauma with the help of her family and friends. She finally realized that that she need to focus on herself and do not need to seek approval of other people.
