If a whirlwind romance with a prince appeals to you, then Royalteen is exactly what you need to watch on Netflix. It is a fluffy romance between a common teenager and a royal prince. Young or old, this Norwegian romance is going to make you all giddy. It may remind you of other romances like Young Royals and Bridgerton. However, both shows are very different from this movie. It’s based on the series of The Heirs, and we are guessing it is the first film in the franchise. Per-Olav Sørensen and Emilie Beck direct this dreamy movie. 

What is Royalteen on Netflix about?

Lena is the newest school kid who catches Crown Prince Kalle’s eye. Their little flirtation quickly progresses to a full-fledged romance. However, Kalle’s sister princess, Margrethe, isn’t happy about the romance between the two. Adding more depth to the characters, Kalle is shown as a party boy trying to get his life back on track, while Lena has secrets of her own.

Is a sequel in the works? 

The movie just debuted on the platform on August 17. It’s too early for Netflix to announce a sequel. Considering how data-driven the company is, it’s better to wait for an official announcement from the streamer.

However, since it’s based on a series and ended on quite a confusing note, there’s scope for a sequel, even if it’s just to tie up loose ends. A Royalteen sequel on Netflix can further delve into their relationship and Kalle’s sister.

What will the plot of the sequel be? 

The sequel is likely to pick from the events of the first film. Lena and Kalle can continue their romance while Lena works on her relationship with Margrethe. The film may delve into the connection between her and her mother. The King and Queen’s story can also be fleshed out more in the sequel.
