The Free Guy actor and Lucy actress have been private yet candid about their divorce. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” the two declared in their statement on divorce, adding that they are exiting the marriage with love and respect, just the way it began.

The couple, with an eight-year difference, got hitched in a private ceremony in a retreat located in Ryan’s hometown of Vancouver, Canada. No official photos were released from their 2008 marriage and were only attended by a handful of people.

The actress remembers wanting the marriage to be a private affair and how pleased it was with the hush-hush affair. After that, the duo enjoyed the comforts of domestic life. “You’ve got your home in that other person,” she said while describing how nice it was to cook for her hubby.

While Ryan Reynolds, the family man, explained marriage as, “You get to hang out with your best buddy every day.” Apart from the tiny bits, the celebrities have managed to keep mum about the reason behind the divorce. But according to reports, it was the Lost in Transaction actress that filed for the divorce. The two have never appeared in projects together.
