“We worked our as**es off…”: ‘Resident Evil’ Star Responds To Netflix Cancelation Of This “hell of a show”
Netflix has been experimenting with several genres by creating shows and movies on famous works. One of those series by Netflix included the adaptation of the popular Resident Evil franchise with an aim to critical success. Because all the previous versions had received mixed reviews from viewers therefore the portrayal of this legendary game was a big challenge. Unfortunately, this renewed series also failed to attract the attention of fans.

And even the entry of the biggest villain of the game, Albert Wesker, couldn’t convince people. Now the streamer has canceled the show after its first season for the underrated performance. Lance Reddick who played the role of Wesker came forward to say his goodbyes to fans and other contributors to the show.

Lance Reddick bid his farewell to Netflix Original Resident Evil on social media
Resident Evil star in a response to the cancellation news of the show posted a video on Twitter. Lance Reddick sat down to thank all the viewers, showrunners, and producers of the show, including Paola Núñez, Siena Agudong, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, and Adeline Rudolph.
The actor proudly stated that they created a “hell of a show,” despite the many trolls the show received for its vague presentation of unsorted events. Moreover, at the end of the clip, Lance reflected on the hard work they put into the show. “We worked our asses off and had a great time,” said the actor. And it’s doubtless that the John Wick star was the perfect candidate to play the iconic character.

Critical reception decided the future of the show long ago
The cancellation wasn’t a big surprise as the show couldn’t survive for three weeks on the Top 10 list. Also, this incarnation received only 55% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 26% audience score. So it is quite evident that investing in another season would be risky since overwhelming negative remarks on social media already crushed the Netflix adaptation.

However, another reason for the failure of the show can be determined by the release because Resident Evil arrived on Netflix right at the time when volume 2 of Stranger Things was racking up all the views. And the show only received about 80 million view hours in 3 weeks. What do you feel about the cancellation of this wild horror ride? Leave your comments below!
