“We tried desperately…”- Zachary Levi Drops Major Revelation About Henry Cavill and ‘Shazam!’ on Instagram Live
If you are a Shazam! fan, you would have expected Henry Cavill as Superman in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. And the fans have every right to be upset after not seeing their favorite actor doing a cameo in the much-awaited film. The snub was expected as last year DC bosses axed The Witcher star from the Universe. However, Zachary Levi has caused an uproar by confessing to a major act he did for the Man of Steel actor. What did he say about the British actor’s cameo in the film?
The first Shazam! movie saw a faceless Superman cameo toward the end of the film. Asher Angel even justified the scene during one of his interviews. Recently, the lead actor of the movie, Zachary Levi, revealed a major thing about the cameo. In an Instagram live, he opened up about it and confessed that he desperately tried to get Henry Cavill on board. However, some unnamed sources were strictly against the idea.

“We tried desperately to get Henry Cavill in the first movie,” revealed the actor, as per Fansided. He also added it was not a faceless cameo, but they planned for The Witcher actor to be in the film. Being a comic Nerd, the 42-year-old actor said it also upset him that they could not get the Man of Steel himself.
This was not the first time that someone worked hard for Cavill to be a part of the DC Universe.

Before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the control of the DC Studios, there came a film named Black Adam. The film saw Dwayne Johnson as the lead character followed by a post-credit scene of Superman. He hailed Cavill as the greatest Superman he ever saw during one of the interactions. The Red Notice actor also fought for the 39-year-old.
He went directly to the executives at Warner Bros. and got approval for the English actor’s appearance. However, despite the fans loving it and expecting more of it, James Gunn axed the possibility as he announced another Superman film.
