Are you aware that Meghan Markle is a good friend of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau? The two have been thick friends for some years now and they initially met each other when Markle was pursuing her acting career while living in Toronto. The Duchess of Sussex invited Canada’s first lady in the eighth episode, Good Wife / Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom of her Spotify podcast Archetypes.

In the episode, Markle and Trudeau discussed the stigmas around being a wife and mother. The two also reminisced about the early days of their friendship while candidly sharing the details about their spouses and children. The depth of the friendship between two modern-day women can be calculated by the fact that Trudeau paid a visit to the Sussexes’ Montecito home in California with her children earlier this year.

During the episode, Meghan Markle gave out intimate details of Trudeau’s day in California. The Duchess shared that the two were not in their best attire, as the outing was all about enjoying with each other in wild curly hair and swimsuits. They spent some quality time chatting with each other under the sun. 

“We swam, we drank wine, we splashed in the water, the former actress mentioned in the podcast about their time together. According to her, it wasn’t a day of being wives and mothers with demure smiles and groomed selves. Instead, it was a day of letting loose in swimsuits, belly laughs, cuddles with their children, and girl talk. 

Sophie Trudeau has three children with her husband Justin Trudeau, namely Hadrien, Ella-Grace, and Xavier. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have two children, Archie and Lilibet. In the interaction, the Suits alum also defended her dear friend by claiming that she is much more than just the wife of Canada’s Prime Minister. Markle hailed Trudeau as an activist, humanitarian, and a friend, who deeply cares for the people she loves.
