Vikings: Valhalla Star Caroline Henderson Teases Her Character Jarl Haakon’s Return in Season Two

Vikings: Valhalla, as we all know, is here to stay for a long time. Netflix has announced that there will be a minimum of 24 episodes, implying that there will be two more seasons. Filming of season two wrapped up in November 2021, and the cast already knows what would happen in the future season. Caroline Henderson, who plays Jarl Haakon in Vikings: Valhalla, teases her character’s comeback (for those of you who haven’t binged watched the series yet, Spoiler Warning, her character meets a tragic death).

Vikings: Valhalla is a brutal, violent, and twisted series that recounts the adventures of a group of Norsemen nearly 100 years after the events of the History Channel’s Vikings. And one of the major twists in the show was the death of Jarl Haakon, the ruler of Kategatt and mentor to Freydis Eiríksdóttir.

Jarl Haakon becomes a supporter and tutor to pagan fighter Freyds throughout the series, training her as a shield maiden. However, her time on the stage was cut short. She was murdered by Jarl Kare during the Kattegat’s war. Many fans will be sad that a character with so much potential was murdered off so early in the series, but we may not have seen the last of her.

Caroline Henderson teases her character’s return

Jarl Haakon prides her foresight and holds strong Pagan beliefs in the series. As a result, Caroline believes her character ‘might turn up’ again. While on a conversation with Metro, the actress teases that, “She might turn up as a ghost or something.”

Caroline Henderson feels grateful for the opportunity to work on this show and doesn’t mind if her character does not return for season 2. There is also a common assumption among fans that Jarl Haakon was a male character from Norse mythology. The actress also put it to a halt, stating that its “purely fictional”
