Vecna is Not the Villain of ‘Stranger Things’? Why Jamie Campbell Thinks So?
All the monsters and fears of the fantasy game Dungeons and Dragons start crawling up on the real grounds of Hawkins, surprising both characters and viewers. In the sci-fi drama Stranger Things, we meet several horrors of the Upside Down that are unnerving and compelling at the same time. But season 4 introduced the scariest beast of the whole series, who preys on the weakling minds of teenagers. The beast fills them with horrible illusions from characters’ past experiences. However, Jamie Campbell Bower aka Vecna has a different opinion about the Stranger Things season 4 villian.
Jamie Campbell Bower has a heart-to-heart connection with Vecna of Stranger Things
In his interview with Vanity Fair, Jamie gave his opinion about the monster terrorizing the kids of Hawkins. He found this opportunity of playing Vecna to be something wild and challenging because he is a fan of villains and sees them from a different perspective. It is Campbell’s belief that antagonists do have their own story to tell.

“Obviously, he’s our point of contention, as it were. But I never saw him as the villain because I understand him” conveyed Campbell.
Campbell has spent several months executing the character of Vecna and has analyzed him from every angle. He told in his other interviews also that undergoing such a transition takes patience. In addition, he read about the negative characters and villains of all sorts to prepare for his role. He used to listen to dark music and deeply dig into the storyline of his character in Stranger Things.

Surprisingly, the evil wizard Vecna has influenced fans and they sympathize with him instead of being affected by his disturbing actions in StrangerThings season 4. However, he has killed people in the most brutal ways like smashing their skulls, crushing bones, and hollowed eyes. Still, fans sided with him, as he was locked all these years in the Laboratory and was used as a slave by Papa for his experiments. Fans and Jamie are convinced that he is not the villain here its the ways of this world as he said in his interview with TV Guide:
“Ultimately, his main goal is still to bring righteous justice to the world, at least his version of righteous justice”

We don’t know about you but we can’t wait to see what Vecna will bring in volume 2. Will he again become viewers’ beloved? Or will he turn into the real nightmare for Hawkins? Volume 2 will be out on July 1. Until then, keep Netflixing!
