A recent study revealed that Billie Eilish’s music also has the ability to make people fall asleep. But how exactly did the pop culture icon find her way into this category? Here is an explanation.

Study reveals how and why songs by Billie Eilish helps people fall asleep
When people think of sleep music, it is likely something along the lines of white music or a long musical session by Beethoven or Mozart. But apparently, Billie Eilish’s angelic voice is also a soothing dose that can have the ability to make one doze off. As per Express, researchers from Aarhus University in Denmark published a study on 18th January which consisted of going through Spotify music. Therein they studied the aspects of music that can make one fall asleep. Studying the audio tracks, they realized that softer, slower, and acoustic types of music are qualities that contribute to the category.

While three categories of music were of this kind, the other three had a higher tempo and energy. The song Lovely by DJ Khalid and Eilish came under this category. Ph.D. student Rebecca Jane Scarratt explained that such a study can help us understand how music influences our everyday life. The song played as a theme for the second season of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.

Eilish wrote the song along with her brother Phineas O’Connell. Although the song is claimed to have a haunting appeal to it, it does have a calming effect. Both Billie Eilish and DJ Khalid received appreciation for their voices and the caged-depression-themed music video.
