“Two fellas on the same journey”: ‘Lost Ollie’ Creator Shannon Tindle Extends His Gratitude to Guillermo del Toro For Another Heartfelt Adventure
There is something hopeful and honest, something bereft of cynicism in the children’s literature. Throughout the narrative, we shed tears, laugh loudly and even gasp as audibly as possible. And Shannon Tindle’s recent masterpiece, Lost Ollie, is a testament to this fact. Although small in size, the ragged stuffed toy here occupies a big space in your heart. And adding to a few titles that are as heartfelt, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio will land on Netflix shortly.
Although such dramas are distinguished for children, we are never one hundred percent sure that they are actually for kids. Bubbly and gleeful on the surface, they carry something meaningful, something to long for deep within. Children and adults alike tend to get lost in the fantasy ride, only to arrive at a beautiful conclusion. Such stories subtly lament the transience of magic of childhood. As soon as fans found lost Ollie on Netflix, they took to Twitter to share their excitement. And it seems like after such a beautiful reception, Shannon Tindle, too, has something heartfelt to share.

Ollie also takes us on many tantalizing adventures to find his best friend, Billy. And while doing so, it takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride. Perhaps it is this quality of these narratives to remind us how much space our loved ones take up in our life that makes them so special. Whatever it is, we, too, are excited for the other fellow with a big wooden nose to travel on the same path Ollie once walked on.
